What is this about? Since the publication of the first edition, there has been significant developments in this field, in India as well as globally. In this edition we have enlarged the coverage of the topic by including a chapter on the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1965, which apply to all government servants. For ease of reference of readers, schematic representations have been provided for the inquiry processes. We have also included a section on Frequently Asked Questions covering all aspects of the law and which, we trust, will be helpful to readers for quick reference. Laudably, the Indian Judiciary has been very active and has contributed hugely in interpretation of the new statute through plethora of judgments. We have curated the most relevant judgments in this area of law and discussed the implications and learnings from them.

This book is a noteworthy contribution in this area of law. This book offers very useful compliance tools/material such as practical guides on sensitive and complicated issues like dealing with complaints against senior management, process flowcharts and checklists. It is a well-researched and comprehensive work which will no doubt enrich its readers with knowledge and critical understanding of the subject.

Indeed a handbook that is a rich source of information on various facets of seeking justice related to an issue which is topical and perhaps timeless. The detail in the book is commendable; it is written in language that non legal professionals can understand with ease. Dealing with the sensibilities around workplace sexual harassment in a comprehensive manner, the book offers relevant information, recent judgments and compliance checklists all in one place. It also serves as a subtle reminder of the responsibility that vests with leaders to create an environment at the workplace that protects employees, eliminates undesirable behaviour and prevents a culture of silence.
