In an initiative to create safer and more inclusive workplaces, Adv. Divya R, Chief Research & Development Officer at The Legal Swan, conducted a series of impactful POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) awareness sessions for the teaching and non-teaching staff across various GIIS (Global Indian International School) campuses in 2024. This educational journey took her to Madurai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore, where she engaged with school staff, fostering an environment of learning and open dialogue.
During these sessions, Divya tackled some of the most crucial and often overlooked aspects of workplace safety. She addressed the importance of breaking societal taboos, helped participants understand the nuances of sexual harassment, and clarified what legally constitutes a workplace under the POSH Act. Moreover, she equipped attendees with the knowledge and confidence to speak out against harassment, guided them on the proper channels for reporting incidents, and discussed how the law addresses false complaints.
The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with staff members engaging actively in discussions and sharing their perspectives.
