The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Officer, Gurugram, has issued an important notification dated 04/11/2024 to remind all government and non-government organizations—including industries, schools, banks, and hospitals—regarding their statutory obligations under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and Rules, 2013 (“POSH Law”). As per the directive, it is mandatory for all such organizations within the district to submit their annual report on workplace harassment cases by 28th February each year. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a penalty of Rs. 50,000 and potential further action as outlined in the Act and Rules.
For reference, an Annual Report of IC for the previous calendar year is required to be submitted to the District Officer with details as prescribed under the POSH Law. This needs to be done for every IC (i.e. for every office where an Organization has 10 or more employees) separately.
