The Right to Be: Human Rights, Inclusion, and the Future of Work.

We are proud to share that Adv. Shivangi Prasad, Founder & Managing Director of The Legal Swan, POSH at Work, and Respekt, and a leading voice in workplace rights was invited as a speaker for the Human Rights Day special session hosted by the Global DEI Alliance (GDEIA). The theme for this year’s conversation, “The Right to Be: Human Rights, Inclusion, and the Future of Work,” brought together powerful perspectives on the evolving landscape of rights and belonging in the workplace.

Shivangi’s deep experience supporting 1800+ organisations, serving as External IC Member for 250+ companies, managing 900+ cases, and conducting 550+ trainings across POSH, POCSO, the Transgender Persons Act, RPwD Act, and more, positioned her as a vital contributor to this dialogue.

What makes Shivangi’s work stand out, and what resonated strongly through this session, is her ability to balance legal rigor with a human-centred understanding of workplace challenges. Her insights reminded us that inclusion is not a metric, a program, or a check-box exercise. It’s a fundamental human right, one that organisations must nurture with intention, empathy, and structural commitment.

During the session, she explored:

  • How the meaning of human rights is expanding within modern workplaces
  • Why inclusion must be treated as a rights – based mandate, not just a corporate initiative
  • The intersections between legal compliance, dignity, identity, and safety
  • What the future of work demands from employers striving to build equitable environments

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Global DEI Alliance (GDEIA) for creating a thoughtful platform to discuss the future of fair, inclusive, and rights-affirming workplaces.

At POSH at Work by The Legal Swan, we remain committed to advancing conversations that protect dignity, strengthen rights, and empower organisations to build cultures where everyone has the freedom and the right to simply be.
