The Government of India, through the Department of Personnel & Training of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (“DoPT”), by way of the corrigendum F. No. 11013/2/2014-Estt.A-Ill, dated July 30, 2015 (“Corrigendum”) stated that it had prepared and circulated a step guide for the conduct of the inquiry into complaints of sexual harassment via Office Memorandum dated July 16, 2015.
It stated that the definition of `workplace’ in the step guide prepared by DoPT is based on Section 2(o) of the Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. It clarified that ‘a dwelling place or a house’ had been inadvertently omitted in the step guide.
Therefore, DoPT clarified in this corrigendum that ‘workplace’ in the step guide may also read ‘(v) a dwelling place or a house’ along with the four other headings.
